Cash games

I feel great about my 6 handed NL skills, and im making good money. But if i lose every huge pot like this to total idiots, its going to kill ym profit. This was my old cash game problem, i rarely get in huge ptos, but when i do i gt sucked out on. This guy 8 outted me on th river after i pot committed myself.

That Sucks

So i get to final four in the $33+ rebuys satellite to the $2600 main event of the WCOOP. Guy min raises my blind, i call with A3 suited. flop comes 963, and i bet out 9k. He raises all in for 45k more and i make the good call when he flips up AK. He needs a king, so hes got 3 outs or im the chip leader and coasting to my $2600 seat ive wanted SO MUCH. Turn K, of course, and hit the rail. Poker is EVIL. Im deep in the 11 rebuy though, so hopefully i take that down.

Been awhile

So i went and had lunch ot Aliso Creek Inn today. It was pretty good, i had a turkey sandwhich with fresh fruit. The view was nice too, and i knew both a hostess lady as well as a waitress. The waitress is an ex gf, and the hostess is an ex ex gf's mom, haha. It was a nice lunch, though.

Ive been playing 2/4 NL 6 handed cash games and im improving my stlye greatly to match the best possible play style for those tables. Im expeccting to get a good hourly ratio from the tables.

I still will play tournaments sometimes. Ive made two deep runs in 11 rebuy this week but came up short of final tables both times. Im also playing satellites from WCOOP. I was doing horrible at them at first but things are starting to turn around.

This is a monster pot from the 55 rebuy second hour, first place is $5200. Exclusive(an EPT) champ says it wasa good call. I put him either on AK or a lower pair which i dominate, so i have to call mathematically. The Baord was cruel though, as i hit my set and still lose.

Todays Results: 7th in $55 PL hold em and 6th in party poker $33 NL HE. Just out of the huge money, oh well. Off to see Wedding Crashers. And tomorrow i have a date with a cool girl, so not sure if ill play ayn poker.

I Love Fish

So i got off work early today and got Del Taco and then entered some tournaments. I start off super hot in the $109 potl imit hold em when i triple up early when my KK has a higher fullhouse vs someone and some guy with a pair was also in for some reason. I played great and smoothly sailed by bigstack to final table from there. 45 person tournament so top 5 spots paid, first earning $1800.

I played heads up against THE WORST player ive ever come across late in a tournament. He was hitting some two pairs etc on my early, but i was still up because of his horrid play. He tried to bluff me out of everything and thought A6o was the nuts preflop. Anyways ive got a chip lead and after a low flop, i put him all in with 89s when ive got overs and a straight draw. Well, he calls me with Ten-nine offsuit, which was ten high with no draw. The ten high ends up holding up as the observers laughed their asses off at his horrible yet luckily correct call. I was down 3k to 60k in chips at point, which is a 20-1 chip lead over me. Somehow, i came back as he was just horrible. The final hand went like this, i had just taken back the chip lead a tiny bit, and i raise from the button with JJ. He reraises, i have no respect fro him so i reraise, he reraises and i put him all in. He had A6o and only pairs the 6 so i take it down. Thanks buddy! Great playing with you!

Ive got twice the average stack in this party poker $33 tourny with 75 peopl left, 50 spots pay. Ill update later.

UPDATE: i got like 23rd after busting in a four way monster pot :)

PLaying Fantastic poker

PLayed four cash tournaments today. First was on party poker, 55$ NL. I busted early after flopped top two pair of T85 flo, got all in vs AT. Turn Q, river Q, and im out because my 8s no longer play. My other non cash was the $109 NL on party poker. I played it perfect in my opinion. PLayed safe until bubble, where i had blinded down to a bit below average. 20 spots paid, and with about 34 left i turned on my jets. Stole some blinds, then some idiot calls all with QJo and 4 flushes me to beat my A7. Im a bit below average with 4600 a few hands later...the huge stack makes it 1k to go, im in BB(400) with AK suited and pushed in for 4600. He calls with TT and i miss. I played it exactly like iwanted to and gave myself two cahnces to get big with A7 vs QJ and AKs vs TT. Oh well. First was about 5k so it was kind of a bummer, but ill take that 109 down eventually.

I took 27th in the $22PL on stars when my my JJ ran into a shortstacks AA and then i lost a flip next hand.

Im in the $109 Pot Limit on stars and it got 54 entries. Ive lead the way since about 34 people left. Currently final table and im tied for 2nd with 7 left. First is $1600.

UPDATE: Wow. That final table was rough. With 8 left i lose 70% my stack with a set to a higher set. Set over set is so rare, having it happen at a final table is just like ugggh. I played awesome though and marched my comeback through the higher set guy by coming over top of his mass raises a couple times. I then got all in vs him for MASSIVE chip leadwith 5 people left AJo vs his ATs. I had one of his spades but he still flopped a flush. Ouch. Still plugging through, i win AJ vs A5(wtf, i had a good hand every time and still no respect). 3 handed, 2 hands in i get AQ on button and raise, get reraised by a tard and i push. Hes got AK and board comes KAKQJ. Wow. AQ vs AK 3 handed is rough. I feel like Phil Ivey. Oh well i played great today. Just missed some wins.

Argh and weeekend stuff

i made a final table in a 900+ person $33 NL hold em tourny on party poker. I was doing well until i lose 70% my stack AKs vs some idiots A7o. 7 fell on the river as i screamed "FUCKKKKKKKKKKK". I couldnt recover, and took home 7th.

The weekends was fun though, had a good time with my friends and met some interesting people. I also decided i like hammocks. Too bad i found out today someone stole my friend's older brother's shades last night. Pretty lame.

Life

I saw Mr and Mrs Smith last night. I didnt have the best company, but i thought the movie was pretty good. Decent action and Angelina Jolie is never hard to look at. I also ate some food at On the Border and tipped like 30% because my waitress was hot.

Tonight is Andypalooza two, so ill be spending the night at andys. I think my drink choice will be white wine tonight, Charles Shaw probably to keep it cheap. I played some tournies today, got deep a a few of them then died before the money. Somewhat my fauly in one of them, in another just started getting shortstacked, and if another i lost QQ vs AJo for the chip lead. That QQ one was the 109$ tourny, first was 5 grand and i woulda been first with about 55 left. Oh well. Off to have fun!

A Tournament..WIN?!

Been playing some tournies lately, getting deep in a lot then taking bad beats or getting short stacked and being forced to play AQ etc and busting. Today I got huge first hour of 55$ rebuy, then busted 30 minutes into the second hour when everything went wrong that could go wrong. As usual, I did well in the $55 Pot limit hold em tourney. Made final table just as the blinds made the big jump from 600/1200 to 1k/2k. Pokerstars really needs a 800/1600 level. Anyways with 8 left, guy in mid pos make it 7k(the max raise) and im in the Small blind with AJ,2k of my 18k in the big blind. I decide to go with it, dumbly I guess, and he calls with AQ and busts me. So close to the big money(first was 2600) but I missed and pulled in 220 for the effort.
In the $22 NL on stars I make it to bubble shortstacked, then go crazy and steal many blinds to get a stack. Then I lose AK vs AJ, 99 vs KQ, and A4 vs 9T. I get my last chips in with KT vs QQ and bust. Kinda a bummer that none of my hands could win a showdown. So I took 32nd of 566, oh well. First would have been worth a solid 3k.
As I type this I’m at a $33 No limit hold em tourney final table on party poker. First is about $3300, and I came in about 5/10 in chips. I won a few hands early and am now 4th. Just ran AQ into AK but I am still alive with 9 left.
Down to 6 with one short stack, I push with KK and big stack calls me with AQ, my KK HOLDS. Wow a miracle haha. IM second with a couple guys real close, but the leader is huge, over twice my size.
Down to 4, took out the short stack Kt vs K9, im 2nd of 3. 240k to my 140k to 65k. Short stack sucked out on big stack to double. Three way was real tough, but after many hands I limped in my SB with QQ, and the short stack pushed in with 44 and I busted him. Heads up took like 25 minutes but I slowly grinded him down with positional raises and flop bets. At one point he blinded down to 2 BBs, then won 2 all ins to get a few chips, then I busted him a minute or two later. Win good for $3277. Good times, feels good to finally pull one down.

Gym and Poker

I started goin to the gym today. I am going to be going Monday-Wed.-Friday. Hopefully i stay consistent.

Entered some turnies toady. $55 Pot limit hold em i palyed great again. I seems to be dominating players in those tournies, either pot limit players suck or i am good, not sure which it is. 160 entered so first was $2400.Down to 30, im abou average in chips with 7k and 150/300 blinds. I get all in vs a guy with my KK vs AQo. Flop is KJx giving me a set, but the river brings a Ten of course. Pot woulda made me a chip leader, which in pot limit i rarely miss final table at that point. Did the $55 no limit hold em rebuy tournament also, rebought right away to 3k, then got up to 3500 beore losing with KK vs 56s when he hits two pair on me. Bounced back a bit then lost a race TT vs AKo and lost 1.5 hours in.

IN good news, im 3/24 in the pot limit omaha hi/lo, hopefully i take it down.

Update: Well that sucked. I was first with 18 left. Then shortstacks started sucking out on me nonstop. I make it to final table in fifth of 9. Then this hand kills me. I flopped top pair and the nut low draw and this guy decides to risk his tourny drawing to the flush. Well, as usual on pokerstars, the flush hit.
